PSALM 19

Have you ever found yourself in a situation where you weren’t sure what’s right and what’s wrong? Have you ever wished for a guide book that explained in plain simple language just what a person should do at such times?

Those of us who believe in God have such a guide book: the Bible. And in this great work is the Book of Psalms, written by King David.

In Psalm 19, we read these words: "The law of the LORD is perfect, converting the soul: the testimony of the LORD is sure, making wise the simple. The statutes of the LORD are right, rejoicing the heart: the commandment of the LORD is pure, enlightening the eyes. The fear of the LORD is clean, enduring for ever: the judgments of the LORD are true and righteous altogether".

The right thing might not be the easy thing, or the convenient thing, or the popular thing, but King David knew then that the right thing was the only thing, and he wrote it down so that we, and others to come, will have the guide book that we need.
