PSALM 16

Back in 1971, Carole King wrote this lyric:
“When you're down and troubled and you need a helping hand and nothing, whoa, nothing is going right.
Close your eyes and think of me and soon I will be there to brighten up even your darkest night.
You just call out my name, and you know where ever I am I'll come running to see you again.
Winter, spring, summer, or fall, all you have to do is call and I'll be there, yeah, yeah, you've got a friend.”

Few things in life are more precious than a trusted friend. To know that there will always be someone to turn to in good times and bad is one of the best things a person can hope for.

How sad, then, that so many people go through life thinking they have no friend they can trust. All they have to do is open the Bible to Psalm 16 and read what King David wrote:
I have set the LORD always before me: because he is at my right hand, I shall not be moved. Therefore my heart is glad, and my glory rejoiceth: my flesh also shall rest in hope”.

Human friends come and go, but we still make time for them. We have One Friend who never leaves us. We just need to make time for Him. He was with Man right from the beginning, and He remains by our side today.
