PSALM 14

Psalm 14 holds one of my favorite quotes from the Bible.
The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God”.

When we read what others write, and have to listen to those who say the Bible is not relevant today, or that God is not real, we can take comfort in knowing that this is nothing new. King David, for all that he was King of Israel, had to put up with the same rubbish.

When we shake our heads at what others say and do, we are feeling what David felt those many years ago. And it is the same God who is being mocked by the corrupt, by those whom David called “workers of iniquity”.

Rather than dwell on the negative, we can reflect that the God we pray to today is the same Lord that ruled King David’s heart, the same God to whom the wise king called out in his time of need, the same Creator who said “Let there be light”, and there was light.

He was with Man right from the beginning, and He remains by our side today.
