My Trips Abroad

I'm not what you could call a world traveller, but I've been fortunate enough to visit a few places over the past two decades.

The first time I ever set foot on a flight was to Singapore. That was back in 1982 for a hockey tournament.

A couple of years later, another hockey trip took me to California.

In 1986, I traveled into the Mainland (China) with a couple of American young ladies. I got as far as a little town called Yangzhou in Kweilin before returning, while they continued on their six-wwek adventure.

In 1989, I was back in California for my sister's wedding.

It would be ten long years before I boarded another flight, for another wedding. This time, it was off to London to watch my niece say "I do".

In the summer of 2001, a first: I traveled on my own for a holiday, visiting a long-time friend in Hawaii before heading over to California.

Two years later, my first business trip took me to Thailand where my colleague and I represented our company in an awards show.

The following year, I made two trips to a small town called Yarmouth on Canada's east coast to train customer support staff.

Later that year, in November 2004, it was off to Kota Kinabalu in Malaysia with my bride on our honeymoon.

Ten months later, I found myself in Ortigas, Manila, where we have an office.
